Transducer for Parker 2510XL

Hi all,
Im considering purchasing a Garmin 1243XSV chart plotter to replace the Lowrance HDS12 GEN2 that was in the boat when purchased. I fish in the great lakes only so depth of 200ft and less is common.
What is the most common way to install a thru hull transducer such as a Airmar B75HW and is there a best location on the hull of the 2014 2510XL?
