Hello,
I am seriously considering buying a used 2520 Sport Cabin with a Volvo diesel.
I will also need a trailer.
Can someone tell me what this boat is likely to weigh and if you have one similar what type of trailer you put under it, please?
I prefer bunks as the boat might spend a lot (too much sometimes) of time there.
And while I'm here, what kind of speed and economy do you achieve.

Thanks in advance.

Peter

Most folks pulling 2520's generally opt for trailers in the 9500# range.
With the diesel power plant being a little heavier, I would opt for one in the 10,000 to 10,500 range.

Consider the weight of the trailer in your negotiations, as aluminum and galvanized can make a difference in overall towed weight.

Other things to consider... SS disc brakes on both axles, torsion axles (keeps the CG down low), 15" wheels, Goodyear Marathon load range D tires ( http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp? ... hon+Radial ) , and LED lighting to minimize water related lighting failures.

Good luck! :)

I have a 1997 2520 with Volvo diesel. I've never weighed it but suspect it is close to 9800#. I use a tandem axle galvanized trailer with SS disc brakes on both axles. At 3200 RPM, it cruises at about 22 mph. At 3500, 25mph. Maxed out at 3900, 29mph. Economy ranges from 3.2 to 2.78 mpg and much better at trolling speed.

I have puchased the same 1998. As i merchant marine, i'll take 4 months off and at an plane and trolling, she'll run for weeks on the same tank of fuel. Curious Dave, what props are you running on your boat? At 3200 i'm lucky to hit 20 down swell surfing. I'm pretty sure i have A4 with the Duoprop. What's the temp reading at them RPM.
Never the less, great boat. I'll get 2.5 at 3200 RPM 100 gallon bait tank, fuel of fuel.

Thanks
