Brass alloys in a marine environment can look sound when old, but could fall apart in your fingers and also allow water to weep into your transom core ...

Dale I know this is an old post but do you have a picture from the inside of your boat of the scuppers you installed? One of my brass tubes are cracked and I have to do something with them asap. Just want to see how the inside was finished.
