Funny you should ask. I am investigating the cowards way out at this point. I just got off the phone with a fiberglass repair guy in kent island, and he is going to come out and take a look.

i might send it out to have the stringers and floor put in, then get it back and finish it up myself.

Life has gotten very busy, other projects have taken over, and I am having way too much fun on the weekends with the kids to devote my life to the stringer/floor issue. That, and to be frank, I don't think I can do as good a job as a pro.

we even considered buying a "new" used boat, but for what I think I can get this rebuilt for, I cannot touch the quality of a rebuilt parker. Walked on a couple "bigger" cc's (20 feet) and my i8 is just plain bigger and better.

for the $8000 - $12,000 i would spend on a new used boat, farm out the tough stuff (stringer/floor) re power, and have a far superior finished product.

i am very up in the air right now with this, and am waiting to have a guy stop out and take a look.

I had thought used boats where so cheap now that its no longer made sense, but i think the boats at my poverty level price point are holding their own.

a 65,000 boat for 40,000 may be out there for the picking, but it is meaningless to me.

now a 18,000 boat at 8000 might get my attention, but i am not seeing them.

I can live with the shame of letting pro do the skill/structural work. barely, but I can do it.

unless of course anyone wants to unload a 21 for an insanely cheap price. I can be bought you know

Thanks for asking dave hope all is well

OK I think I solved the whole Parker 18 rebuild issue. I call me solution a

Steiger 21 CC Comercial (kinda like the long beach). I left OMC for Yamaha. left the 80's for the 90's, Single axle for a double, "pucker"braking for actual trailer brakes (who knew how coool those things where - wonder how long before they break) and alas, have left Parker. (Though I gotta say, its as close as you can get without actually being a Parker)

The Parker, Evinrude and trailer will be on the blocks (along with about $400 worth of epoxy and pourable foam) I plan on actually getting out on the water this summer in an attempt to live down my shame.

Thanks for the advice on the repair, but this just made too much sense.

Damn you craigs list

craigs list. I think I just found the perfect buyers. father son, they want to rebuild it for the boy. They have neighbors who all have parkers.

I could not be happier with where it went. I even get to pass it on my way out of the creek.

Hope the steiger does not make me persona non grata around here

Naaaa... we like them too.
After all, you are a former Parker owner (and might be again someday).

I hope you told the new owner about CP.
I hope you also told him we like project photos. :D
