I'd like to add one of those three or four rod starboard rodholders to my 2100CC, but where?
I don't want to attach it to the console, because there won't be clearance for my 7' rods when the bimini is up.

I was thinking of attaching the rod holder to one of my Igloo coolers, but I don't really want to drill through it. Can anyone suggest a waterproof "glue" that would attach the two to each other permanently?

In a word ... 'wellnuts' - like used to attach hardware to kayak boats. Drill a hole for the body diameter and use a long enough bolt to go through the rod holder and then pull up and tighten the wellnut. I would think a #10 sized one would be fine.

See photo, your holder would go in place of the sign and the wall will be the plastic wall of your cooler. You don't have to drill through and the very nature of the nut makes it waterproof, not that you need it.

There are some nice lookin rod holders that mount on outside of transom, either side of motor.

I put a three-slot rodholder on the front of a medium sized Igloo cooler that I place in the port-side rear corner of the boat. I carry this cooler on and off the boat each trip. I keep drinks and snacks in that cooler. I also mounted two single rod holders on one end of a large Igloo cooler that I keep in the bow of the boat.

In both cases, the original bolts that came with the rodholders were not long enough to go through the insulated walls of the cooler. I bought longer stainless steel bolts, and bolted through the cooler with nuts on the inside. I have used the medium sized cooler for eight years and have had no problem with loose bolts. The large cooler has had rod holders for 5 years without problem.

See my Aug 10 post at http://www.classicparker.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2528 for photos.
