Does anyone have any experience with the Sea Swivel Trolling Motor Mount?

Yes, it is costly, but the angst and effort it saves could be worth it for my purposes.

Here's my plan...

I have a 2010 1801 with no handrail on the bow. It appears the only option for a standard mounting is to relocate the nav lights and make sure you don't block the anchor locker.

The Sea Swivel would allow me to mount the motor further back in the small pocket on the starboard side of the bow just before the gunwale narrows. It only requires 8" x 8" and the underside of the deck is easily accessible for the backing plate. The motor would deploy slightly from the side of the bow and when stowed I can swivel it to secure it atop the gunwale.

I would install a motor plug in the vertical wall just off the mount and run wiring under the port gunwale back to the storage box in the port stern. I'm looking at a 24v 100amp lithium battery and charger.

Shuttleslide came out with a swivel mount as well. You may want to check that out and compare to the Seaswivel. The Seaswivel looks great just hard to get past the price tag...but it is for a boat!

For me, I had to have the trolling motor in my hands before I considered any mounting solutions. I have an 1800, so no bow locker, but having that TM on the boat gave me a good visual on how it would function once lagged down. The solution will become evident once you start laying out the pieces.

A 60” fits right across the front and works great that way without any mounting plate just a shim

Nice - my plan as @Puck-n-Fish mentioned is first to get the motor and play with the placement before any next step. What did you use for the shim? and how thick?
I used star board what ever thickness the lip was to make it level. I noticed being back in from the bow that the 60” never came out of the water no matter how rough it was, my next boat I mounted it on the bow and when its rough it comes out. This new instal I’m not as far back as I would like but it’s not on the bow either

So I have a 21SE with a trolling motor mounted on the bow, and the shuttle slide makes it so that if the motor is not in use it doesn't block the bow light.

Further more I can slide the motor forward or back for space.

Further more Shuttle slide makes a nice backing plate.

I also put my anchor locker on removable clips or pins so I can acccess the anchor.

Enclosed are pics.

I also added that chock for the anchor rope because if I do need to use the anchor I want to ensure the line stays on that side of the bow and doesn't hit my trolling motor or nav right.

To work around the nav light issue with the trolling motor, I installed Taco surface mount nav lights as seen in the attached pic. Easy to install & VERY bright.

My TM as a standard install with a quick release bracket does prevent the anchor locker from opening unless the motor is deployed. I have yet to find this as an issue. If I need to deploy my anchor, I deploy my TM & send the anchor. The thing you want to think about is if any part of the TM will stick out beyond the rub rail. This could be an issue when docking or putting your boat back on a trailer (if you have trailer guides).

Also, to use the existing hole where the original nav light was, I installed a BlackOak Pod light which fits just right next to the TM. Handy when trying to navigate around all the crab pots at night (not meant for continuous light when running).

Also, if you are doing a new install, you may want to consider putting your batteries in the console vs. in the stern storage areas. Weight distribution and free up some storage for other things.

Pardon the wiring mess, I will update this in the off season to tighten this up. 1 main battery for motor & everything else & 3x12v batteries for my TM.
