Again, the amount of rust that has accumulated on the stock Parker steering wheel, has gotten me motivated to breath a little more life back into the boat. I bought a Sea Choice 15.5" steering wheel with a turning knob. The install was super easy and the boat again 'gets me more excited than my beautiful wife of 5 years'... haha.

I bought my wheel 'new' on ebay because it was the cheapest I cold find. Maybe a bit over $110. But this price is pretty low as well...

Now to conquer some bigger boat projects!

My follow up is that this wheel (a knock off of the Edson) rusts quickly (by quickly, after 6-months in a damp marine environment, it is starting to get rust spots in the spokes). I had some extra white awlgrip paint so I just painted the spokes. Wish I would have just sacked up and got a more expensive one that would last in the salt environment long-term.

I want to point something out on the pix.

See how the spinner is in the rim of the wheel? That's what you want.

There are wheels that have the spinner just inside the rim , in the outter most part of the spoke. Don't get that.

You wouldn't think so, but it takes a Lot more effort to turn the wheel.

But I always use a 13 1/2in wheel also....Even on twins.

Outside....You would not believe the difference 1in makes on the spinner location.... I had the same size wheels on my Mako.....dual station.....I screwed up and didn't pay attention to the knob location when ordering the 2nd wheel. It took a LOT more effort to turn the wheel. I had 13 1/2in wheels on it.

My wheels held up. They need some wax once in a while.

But let me point something out.

If they are in direct sunlight....IE: non covered 2nd station.

I put it in the media blaster and dulled the finish.

Shiny will Flash the crap out of your eyes in direct sun.

I am replacing original Parker 15” wheel.

I selected the 13.5 “ diameter wheel as personal choice and the 15.5 “ would be larger than stock . Either one looks great and has a knob by the rim.

Parker wheel goes on the wall.

I have Sea Star helm with 3/4 “ output and takes a 5/8” -18nut
