I want to replace that baitwell hatch in cockpit with something better. Current one leaks and loose and a trip hazard. Any of hard plastic hatches made well enough or get a metal one? I thought some of plastic ones are really sturdy but need to see it in person or someone has one

Jabsco Parmax Hotshot 6.0 pump for the SurFlow/No Flow pump replacement. The Bilge auto pump......Dump that one. Rule 1500 and Rule -A-Matic Plus float switch. That bilge pump is draining your battery on the lift.

When this one quits, it is out. First running all new wires to it and have neg bus bar close by as another improvement, and installed Noco chargers to use when on lift or dock

Washdown and bilge pumps are getting all new wiring and will tidy the area. Interesting, motor cables were shorten 10 feet of 2 guage and before, was loose and in the bilge.

Were your original switches On Off On ?

With these switches can you have only one item ON at a time so wiring items to a switch is important. It probably is no brainer after removing all junk attached to them


To date only need 8 switches but could change.

The only ON OFF On should be your Nav/ANC switch

Actually on my Parker there is also an On-Off-On switch for Washdown/Baitpump. Its actually pretty annoying to not be able to run both at the same time, but they do both use the same pickup/strainer so perhaps its a water usage thing.

We made a lot of progress today. New switches and few circuit breakers. More poor wiring removed. 6 guage wire for windlass. Old 2 stroke oil fill piece removed and new rod holder going in. It is coming together. Waiting on uflex steering ram, hoses and throttle cables- using Uflex Mach zero. Picking up new rode this week , too. 150 feet 3 ply and 20 feet of chain and swivel

yea seeing that crappy wiring laying on the deck gave me flashbacks.

We just cut out the back deck yesterday to pull the rusted tanks. It is really SQUEEZED in there. I’d say there isn’t more than 5/8” of space between the tank and stringers/bulkheads. It’s gonna be a beeeeyotch to get out....

Switch panel is done and panel have needs a good cleaning. New waterproof anchor light installed and ran 6 guage wire to windlass which https://pbase.com/mainecruising/fuel_sender_testing as 10 g auto SAE. Everything has power! Just need a breaker for windlass then move on to other projects.

Uflex MachZero throttle cables - said to better than Xtreme
2 for 113.46 for 26 feet each

Uflex high performance Kevlar hoses, 1500 psi , 26 feet . A pair costed 333.79. ! You pay a lot more for these but one day I will replace helm pump for an all 1500 psi system. I could not find a rear mount Uflex pump but if the vintage SportPilot plus autopilot fails then convert to front mount 1500 psi Uflex


Uflex silversteer cylinder UC 130 svs 2 which is step up from UC 128 svs 2 cylinder for $589 which is nearly $100 less than the 128


I started online then could not find the 130 cylinder then emailed them . Next I called Marv and went over bid, availability and shipping time. All in stock and will ship in one box direct from Uflex but in oversized box and wasn’t eligible for free shipping then added $55



I don’t know if lowest price or deal but it is done and will install soon.

As long as the size of the rope is correct, the type of rope normally does not factor into it. Feel free to purchase the 8 plait rope with confidence.

New wheel looks great and will use TEF--GEL paste on the shaft after autopilot is tested.

Rod holder fits existing hole. I need to drill out old and make new holes then seal with epoxy
