Daanngg! That is soooo sweet.

Tell us exactly how you have it organized. Lead in one, hooks in another, ??????

Yeah, I've got one box for hook, one for weights, one for leaders, and the rest for different jigs, lures and skirts. What's nice is when I have buddies that want to bring real specific hardware then I just temporarily swap out the boxes. Just for info, that set-up is made by Offshore. Randy.

I've noticed that the hooks in my plano always seem to develop rust on them. Of course I am referring to the non stainless hooks.

Even if I am careful to only touch 1 hook when pulling one out, the others just seem to rust. I hate rusty hooks. I've tried using needle nose to take the hooks out and that helps but is there some trick to keeping stored hooks from rusting?

Tackle Drawer:
I mounted one of those 4-drawer Plano tackle holders in the middle of the stern cockpit - work slick!

Fishing Rigs and Fishing Tools:
I make up the leaders and rigs ahead of time and store in small zip-lock bags, that get re-used. I simply hook them onto SS hook eyes mounted in the cabin ... handy, easily found, out of the way ... and FAST to deploy! Gear like pliers and gaffs are mounted to the inside cabin bulkhead. I also have a small tool holder that's on the 'inside' of the cabin door, so when it is warm out ... those tools are then handy to get at, as with the door open, they're not on the 'outside' .

WD40.........hooks won't rust and fish won't touch them either......they will last forever! I like to let those grouper and snapper lips scrape the rust off as they bite down real hard.

Keep the ideas comin'. I'm keepin' track and I plan on giving away a little prize, sure to be loved by any Parker owner, for the best idea(s). That's right, I just attempted to buy your involvement.

Anyone else have anything to offer before we call it a day?

I tried to magnify this pic but it got too distorted. What are these?

Those are the 2" wide by 4+" tall zip-lock rig/leader bags that contain striper, eel, and flounder rigs. All have different hooks, some different pound test.

Those are the pre-rigged leaders in ziplocked bags that Dale mentioned.

Whats not shown in the picture is the most critical piece of equipment on Dale's boat.. the flyswatter! For when the green-heads are in thick in the heat of the summer.

My cousin swears by wd40 as the secret sauce for catching ling cod, hasn't worked for me though.

WD40 works so well on bottom species that the Party Boats (headboats) up here would go through your gear before boarding and confiscate it. Turns out it also calls in the dogfish ... bigtime!

It's the 'secret sauce' that many of us here in the Bay use on our shad plastics on tandems and umbrella rigs too.
I've also seen it used on BA's and BKD's used while LTJing.

Don't tell anybody though... 8)

I kinda thought that's what they were but I guess the size in the picture confused me. I should have compared it to the reel in the picture.

Capt. Kevin,
I noticed in your picture that you have those outriggers that fit in the rod holder. I bought a used set last year and plan on using them this spring. Any advice on deploying them? I have a 2120 SC. I was thinking about buying the additional extenders to make them 6 foot. Also the screw on the end for one of them broke off, have you had this problem. Thanks for any help.

Those outriggers are marketed by Flat Line Boom company...
http://www.flatlineboom.com/

They are simple to deploy... First, remove the rubber insert to your rod holder, then insert. Make certain that you attach the heavy mono shock cord to your spring cleat, and as the boom rotates to level in the rod holder, the base locks into the pin at the bottom of the rod holder.

Mine have the extentions on them and nothing has broken in the 5 years that I've owned them (they came with the boat). :)
If you need repair parts, I'd call the number listed on the company web site. I'm sure they'd be able to help you.

Thanks for the information, it is a small company but at least I got a real person on the phone. Hopefully I will have some good luck with them.

I promised to send out a special "prize" for the best tackle storage solutions as I am in the process of revamping my system and was looking for some ideas. Well, bothe Bryan and MegaB replied with some great ideas and since I think they are both equally helpful, I am going to ask DaleH to send them both a Parker Hat.

Thanks for the tips and ideas guys!
