    Broken timing belt pully

Non-interference engine. So no big deal. Replace the pully and the belt. I assume that the engine will still turn-over?

Time to Change the Engine Oil ...... Oil Guys

mobil-1-product-guide-rev-31.pdf Many people like to run an oil with high Zinc and Phosphorus (anti-friction/anti-wear properties). Since 1994, with EPA mandates and evolution of catalytic converters, Zinc and Phosphorus levels in oil have dropped significantly Attached above is a good...

    Parker 1800 1998.

8 gauge??? That's almost big enough to use as a starting cable (almost). I can't imagine any situation on a sub-60ft boat that you'd need 8 gauge to carry the milli-amps of stray current generated by electrolysis. 12 gauge should be PLENTY big enough.

6 gage Wire to the Anchor Locker

Correct. The only other way (I'm assuming your batteries are in the console) is to run the wires under the deck, to the fuel tank compartment, drill a small hole in the forward fuel tank bulkhead (there is an empty space under the deck, forward of the fuel tank and behind the anchor locker...

6 gage Wire to the Anchor Locker

The easiest ..... through the fuel fill chase. Duplex 6 gauge

Do You Keep the Outboard Running

On my last trip, both engines were running the entire trip....... left the harbor at 5am and returned at 9pm. But I was also a long way from the harbor and was power-drifting the entire trip. But on a "normal" fishing trip, I'll turn off the engines while at anchor regardless of how far...

    1996 Hull Composition and Design

All the questions you are asking have been answered 100x and a simple Google search will give you hours and hours of reading. I'm not trying to be a d$ck...... just trying to help you find the answers you are seeking in a timely manner.

    1996 Hull Composition and Design

Why specifically 1996? The 25 MV and the 25 DV hull is virtually unchanged over the past 35 years albeit some interior comforts, carpets, and tank size. The deadrise, beam, stringers, transom, bulkheads, weight, construction techniques are virtually identical in all years

    Here's my poor man 12" Nav/fish finder

I like! The cost of marine electronics is astronomically high and I'm always happy to see a little ingenuity when possible. I assume the tablet works off cell-signal so the ability to use such a device as a GPS is limited by cellular service? Or does this also have a built-in GPS?

    Goodbye Parker 2120

Dang! You went from a nice, solid boat to a REALLY nice, really solid boat.

New Kill Switch (ECOS) Regulations and MOB+ Installation

Correct. ^^^^^^^ LOA is a term defined by the USCG in the Code of Federal Regulations. Federal Regulations (uscgboating.org) Pulpits and (generally) motor brackets are not included. At one time, LOA was a waterline length and now has evolved to a "stem-to-stern" measurement.

2100CC 225 four stroke prop help

Is this the new v6 225 from Mercury or a Yamaha-rebranded Mercury 225 v6 4-stroke. Or something in between? Without knowing the exact engine and gear ratio, it's hard to make a prop recommendation. But normally the Mercury Mirage is an excellent prop on the heavy Parker hull. The big blade...

New Kill Switch (ECOS) Regulations and MOB+ Installation

FYI - Make sure you change the small watch-battery in the FOB at least 1x/year (or sooner). When they fail, the engine will randomly shut-off. I know from experience.

Fuel tank size options from factory 126 or 170?

Decades ago, Parker installed much larger tanks as compared to today or even 10 years ago.

    TRIM TILT

It's a self bleeding system. No need to open the bleed valve. Continue to cycle the trim up/down with the valve closed and be sure the fill reservoir stays "filled" each time you cycle up. You can use the Yamaha Trim/Tilt fluid or simply use any ATF #2 fluid or hydraulic fluid (I know it...

Pic of my Radar screen. Is this normal?

That would be a question best answered by Furuno Technical Services. Call Denton, Maryland or Camas, Washington. Both are excellent.

    Delta pad or flat keel

As others have said (above me), it's a Delta pad and assists with stability, planing time, speed and fuel economy. I think a Delta pad is a standard feature in all Parkers from 21 - 28ft...... at least the 28 and 23 I previously owned had it ..... I forget if the 25 MV had it or not.

    Proper Cruising RPM's Please

When I owned a 23 DVCC and the F300 (perfect combination), I would set the rpm at 3400-3600 for the best fuel economy, sound abatement, and overall cruising speed (which was about 30mph). The 2nd graphic that I posted above shows this to be true as well. I've heard/read others say that the...

    Proper Cruising RPM's Please

Here is some data you can use to estimate your own fuel efficiency and what might be the best RPM for your best fuel economy. All of these measurements were taken in a river with minimal (no) current and minimal winds. All data is reproducible. I have a huge Excel spreadsheet with numerous...
