I’m probably going to get a stainless bracket to mount it with. But this works for now.

Here’s my temporary 10l (2.6 gallons) fuel tank.

how noisy is the heater when running

Inside the cabin not noticeable at all. The fuel pump clicking you can kind of hear from the back deck but without the engines running or stereo on. The exhaust comes with a muffler, but after looking at it I decided not to install it. It's not sealed and I was worried about CO inside the cabin so I left it out. If you lean over the side of the boat you can hear a little bit of the exhaust which sounds like a very low roar. For the most part you don't hear it. For $250 I am extremely pleased.

on your heater how hot does the exhaust pipe get? any problems with it in the cabin

Right out of the heater it’s around 300 degrees, then drops to 200 or so near the double walled thru hull. I have exhaust wrap just haven’t installed it yet.

Nice updates. I remember when this 2530 came up for sale. I actually spoke to the owner. It was a good buy then.. I'm sure you got it even for less money. Looking forward to watching your updates. Also, you will love the structure scan. I have been a Garmin/ Furuno guy for 8 years. Now, I am Navico/ SIMRAD: it's that much better technology.

It’s well worth the money, here’s the thru hull I used.

I ordered what appears to be the same one from amazon. Thanks for the tip.

mine just got here, going to bench test it ,then put in in over the winter, thanks for the photos

One question that’s been bugging me with this setup. I assume while using the vessel some water can collect in the exhaust tube. Is this something to be concerned with? Can this heater be used while running the boat (on plane). I don’t see why not. When my parts arrive I’ll post my install on my project thread as well.

I’ve run mine while underway on the last three trips without issue. I didn’t install the muffler on mine since it doesn’t appear to be sealed. It has a drain in the bottom for condensation. I was more concerned with CO.

If you are concerned with water into the exhaust thru-hull making its way to the muffler or gen-set, put a weather loop in the exhaust.
Below is a photo of a weather loop for a pair of bilge pumps. Notice that the loops are above the thru-hull exit. That way water cannot back flow.
The same theory would also work with your exhaust tubing.
