Good info. Thanks Wart!
Let's start with the zinc anodes first. We install 3" zinc anodes on the top of the Trim Tabs we supply SeaRay. So they are likely on your Trim Tabs if they were installed at the factory. It is important that you do not prime or paint under the anode where it sits on the Trim Tab so it makes good electrical contact.
The secret to getting anti-fouling paint to adhere to your trim tabs is proper priming, and the best people to tell you what to do are the experts at the company that makes your anti-fouling paint. We strongly suggest that you contact the paint manufacturer and tell them you are painting "304 stainless steel" trim tabs, then follow their recommendations to the letter!
You can paint the actuators (rams) by simply scuffing them with something like a "Scotch Bite Pad" and apply the antifouling directly to them. You can paint the shafts too.
So check out what Interlux recommends and you should be good to go!
