Upper 80s in CA last week. Don't know how you guys can live in all that snow.

On the other hand, we're buried in snowflakes year round here.

Haha ....good point . Us Northern folk like to pick on California as the land of fruits and nuts but when it’s January and -20 deg most of us wish we were there. Our winters are long here and our boating season is short, which is precisely why I decided on a pilothouse. I’m looking forward to some 80’s myself

It will be in 80’s this week in NC. It’s about time. February was like spring. My grass started growing and the trees were budding. Thought we were going to have an early spring then March and April turned to crap. I’ll be complaining about the heat in 2 weeks, lol. Damn nice fish WestCoast, especially that flounder!

Not much for pictures lately, I keep forgetting to take some. Most of the wiring is done. I chased down a few mystery wires and discovered they were from previous abandoned circuits. Radar and mount are installed and wired. Next project is to get my transducer and my dome lights installed. Any suggestions for a house battery gauge? My MFD will not display battery voltage unless connected to a NMEA 2000 network and my engine is too old.

I like the second one. Too bad the digital was not red. Not sure how yellow will affect night vision. I hope to mount the guage in the dash for quick easy reference.

You should be able to show supply voltage to the unit if it has the gauge page.

My display does have the gauge page but without networking thru NMEA 2000 the battery voltage cannot be displayed (per Raymarine). This is a first for me as well. My previous displays I was able to monitor the input voltage on the screen.

You can set up an NMEA2000 network without it being connected to the outboard, and your MFD would show the input voltage of the power supplied to the network.

That would be convenient. Do you have any advice or a link on how that’s achieved? I’ll take a look on Google as well.

I have my electronics networked together using Raymarine’s sea-talk network. It’s all just plug and play. From what I’ve read to make the gauge portion of my display to display the engine/voltage data it needs to be connected to the network. Considering my engine is a pre-network model I’m at a loss at how to configure this unless I need to purchase a voltage sensor that would tie into my network.

My 04 Evinrudes are Pre nema. I added Lowrance fuel flow sensors and a network starter kit. But I was able to show supply voltage before. I believe it’s listed under vessel when you set up the gauge screen. At least it is on my HDS unit.

My display has the box listing the Voltage as V - -.- - But it needs a place to read the voltage from. The display will not display input voltage. It will only display voltage from a networked sensor. I’ll send off some emails to Raymarine to see if they have any ideas. A lot of people do not like Raymarine for various reasons but for what I paid for my system I could not pass on it.

Let me preface this post by saying I know nothing about Raymarine devices so I don't know if this will work for you. Below is an image of an NMEA2000 starter kit which would contain everything you need to show voltage on your MFD (see above disclaimer).

Power cable attaches to bus bar and is plugged into one T. Backbone cable connects the Ts. Drop cable connects to the other T and your MFD. Terminator connectors attach to each end of the network. Done. Also easily added to for other devices/sensors.

I’ve been buttoning up loose ends the past couple weeks and not many pics taken. Bulk of the wiring is finished. New navigation lights installed, radar is mounted and wired in, new thru hull transducer, deck is caulked, new lights in pilothouse. I’ll be taking her out of storage this week and bringing her home. Depending on my schedule I’d like to splash her this coming Sunday. Somehow I need to find time to change the engine and lower unit oil.

I launched her today! Some gremlins to work out but overall a good trip. With my 225 Honda the max rpms with 50 gallons of fuel and 2 people is about 5800-5900 rpms so it’s reasonably propped. Cruise at 4200 was about 27-28 mph and max speed about 38 mph. I’m having some fuel issues to sort out on the engine but I expected some headaches. Under heavy load she seems to be starving for fuel and seems to cut out when over 5,000 rpms. Longer I ran it the worse it seemed to get and even gave me trouble as low as 4,000 rpms. The hoses on the deck drains seem to have a slight leak but that’s easily fixed and the radar would intermittently lose signal and become “disconnected”. Overall a decent first splash. It was a busy afternoon and kinda forgot to take some pics.....next time

Maybe helpful or not

My rigging tube was replaced and noticed the fuel line from Racor fuel and water filter in aft bilge area to the under cowling fuel filter had a severe crease at a 90 deg turn.It was separated into 2 sections -. the outer hose and the inner. It could be easy to pull out the inner hose, too. I dont know if this hose has been replaced previoulsy. I ordered a Yamaha fuel line with primer pump kit ( 8 mm diameter hose). Cut the new fuel line and rigged it and the primer is mounted parallel to Racor. The Yamaha hose had a performed bend going to the cowling fuel which is why I ordered it

It appears the drain hoses that go from my deck drains out to my scuppers are leaking. I looked at how to access them to replace but they are in a difficult spot. Any advice ?
