Windlass wiring in anchor rode locker is done. I am thinking about adding super sticky duct tape over the wiring to help prevent rode from snagging wires and another layer of protection.

Good idea or not? I am not sure how long it will last.

I have seen a tape used under auto headliner to secure wires but can’t find the item

When the solar panels were installed , a hole was drilled from roof into the cabin aft electrical chase, and filled with 5200. It took a couple of hours to remove it in bits and pieces but I removed the wires . Fortunately the wood is dry and should bevusing so much goop in the hole and on the roof. How can I repair the hole but keep the chase clear for running wires. I was thinking is using a piece of cardboard then cover with wax paper. Over the time the card board would break down. Another thought would make a round patch about size of shotgun cleaning patch, saturated with epoxy and carefully place into the hole shaft.

Thanks

I used a wire brush to clean out old sealant in the hole . It took about 20 min and used hemostats to remove old sealant then more time to clean hole.

Sealed the wood with epoxy then cut a 3 in circle of mat to make a hollow plug like a sock then will fill the void with thickened epoxy in the morning . Thankfully no rot or wetness
